There is so much to explore in this part of the United States. The Pacific Northwest is blessed with two large mountain ranges: the Cascade Mountains and the Olympic Mountains; multiple national forest areas, abundant state parks, and two of the most beautiful major cities in the country. So far I have explored the San Juan Islands and Puget Sound by boat, hiked around Mount Baker and in the Chuckanut Mountains and enjoyed the culture and vistas of Seattle and Portland. My husband and I have also taken our boat to Vancouver Island and up among the Canadian Gulf Islands and the Strait of Georgia. Photographing these landscapes and vistas has enriched my own life and helped me to appreciate all the beauty this part of the world has to offer.
